About Just Pots Container Gardening

Everything you love about the season, uniquely designed for low maintenance and lasting beauty. Just Pots Container Gardening has created spectacular seasonal displays for downtown districts, businesses, and a variety of beautiful North Shore homes since 2001.

Our artistic plantings begin with hand-selected containers and other hardscape elements designed to enhance the architecture and character of the home or business, and ensure proper scale with their surroundings. We work directly with the client or their landscape architect to discuss their vision for the space, which leads to an appropriate container choice and a unique plan for four seasons of lasting color.

Careful selection ensures that the correct container is equally enjoyable as a sculptural element when empty, as it is when filled with an arrangement of plants.

Why Container Gardening

Container Gardening allows the placement of a garden where you will enjoy it most. Our goal is to provide aesthetically pleasing low maintenance beauty in every season, which will delight our clients and their guests each time they enter and view their property.

Our designs emphasize eye-catching color, rich texture and subtle fragrance in harmony with the seasons. At Just Pots, years of experience with plants, gardens and design, ensure that just the right plants will be chosen to meet your requirements and sensibilities.

We believe a beautifully planted container is an aesthetic statement, a visual note, a gift — from someone who cares about the beauty of plants and the enjoyment they bring — to all who view it.

About Our Owner

Nancy Snyder, an Evanston resident, is a member of the Landscape Design Association, and has worked at the Chicago Botanic Garden for more than 20 years. She studied horticulture at the University of Illinois in Urbana and is a talented artist, designer and instructor. Her botanical illustrations are included in the gardener’s bible The Manual of Woody Landscape Plants, an essential handbook for professional horticulturists, by Michael Dirr.

Along with her husband Matthew, a horticulturist with C.J. Fiore, and their two daughters, they relax at their farm in LaPorte, Indiana where they grow curly willow, heirloom willows, winterberry, dogwood and hydrangeas. Nancy is also in love with fall and grows many varieties of pumpkins and gourds, mostly harvested by gaggles of girl scouts and lucky Evanston neighbors.
